About Cleveland Housing Advice Centre

Since the charity was founded in 1992 we have provided one to one advice, lay advocacy, and representation in the areas of welfare benefits, housing, and debt issues. Currently we are able to provide specialist advice and support with all welfare benefits issues from identifying entitlements, assisting to make claims, to challenging decisions including in person representation at Appeal Tribunals.

If we are unable to help with a particular issue for any reason (such as lack of capacity, no suitably qualified adviser or similar) then we will provide signposting or referrals to other providers in the local area who can help. The charity also provides work experience placements and on the job training for residents who are both socially and economically excluded from the labour market to help them develop skills and confidence to re-enter paid work.
