About How to engage with young, undiscovered talent

Join the social mobility charity, Career Ready, for this virtual lunch and learn. Find out more about the work they do with sixth form students in Teesside, how you can get involved and ways in which you can attract diverse, local talent.

Career Ready Programme

For over 20 years Career Ready have provided a programme to sixth form students to raise their career awareness, develop their employability skills and enable them to build and grow their own network of contacts.

Employers who engage and support the programme not only have access to volunteering opportunities, but are able to engage with, and talent spot from, the students on the programme.

One of the key components on the programme is a 4 week, paid, summer internship. They give young people the opportunity to develop vital career skills and experience, and employers the chance to attract diverse, local talent.

• 70% of Career Ready students said that they would work for their internship employer in the future
• 80% of internship supervisors said that their Career Ready intern added value to their business
• 72% of internship employers said that they would hire their Career Ready student

Funding for SMEs

We will also inform you as to our Internship Investment Funding for SMEs (businesses with 10 or more employees) to help small and medium sized businesses host a Career Ready student in the summer.
