Your business can help inspire and raise the aspirations of young people across the Tees Valley. Find out how you can support careers and enterprise education locally and help shape the future workforce.

Research shows that pupils who receive four or more meaningful engagements with employers between the ages of 11-16 years are 86% less likely to be unemployed or not in education, employment, or training and on average earn 22% more.

Tees Valley Careers

Tees Valley Careers is Tees Valley Combined Authority’s dedicated careers education initiative, targeting all young people aged 7-18. It is working with every school and college in the area together with local businesses to help shape and deliver careers and enterprise education.

So far more than 1,000 local businesses have signed up to the initiative to support young people by directly informing them of job opportunities and sharing career information. The aim is for each child to receive seven meaningful employer engagements.

This direct contact helps build a young person’s confidence and improve their knowledge of the labour market, helping them to make key decisions about their future. It could even lead to future employment.
